During this tour you can discover the secrets of the Jewish town Kazimierz.
We owe a significant part of Kraków’s heritage to Jewish community. The Jews settled in Kraków in the 12th century and for hundreds of years they contributed to the developement and life of the city.
Let’s immerse together in the Jewish town where the story will flow about the prosperity and wealth of Kraków’s Jews. Firstly, I’ll reveal to you the secrets of local rabbis and some mysterious stories from the past of Kazimierz town. Before I’ll tell you about dramatic chapter of Jewish history in WWII, we will delve into magical world of Jewish legends and find out secrets of everyday life of Jewish family. Therefore we will visit one of the synagogues and the oldest Jewish cemetry.
Kazimierz district has a completely different vibe than the Old Town. It is full of dark narrow streets, ruined houses and atmospheric courtyards. Almost every corner here is home to some unique cafes or street food stalls.
Finally, unfortunately we can’t avoid talking about the tragic end of Jewish community. When we get to so called ‘Schindler’s courtyard’ I will explain to you how tragically WWII influenced the history of this place.
